What's your cause?

I must say, I really liked the last Warrior message, the one about the passive Warrior.
This blog is really just to honor my husband....He is a wonderful man who definitely is not a passive Warrior but he is by far a passionate WARRIOR....

I know that he would fight for Amelia and I...I know he tries to protect us...he is a wonderful provider, always looking to make sure we spend our money wisely...always trying to make the best decision for our family. He recently has stopped bring his computer home, which has made it so he cant work from home! We love him very much...

ALSO, the second part to that message was a passionate warrior wants and looks for ways to advance the kingdom! That is exactly what God has told Steve to do. I know he gets frustrate sometimes, and feels like giving up...But he stands strong, and does what God tells him to do. :) He is a wonderful man, who is doing what God wants him to do, he listens and obeys, regardless of what other people think! I am so proud of him...and love him very much.

Thanks hunny for being a GREAT Warrior....we love you!

Stop the Clock

Its time to slow down
I feel like a circus clown,
All around me the sound
Of time ticking around and around...

There is always so much we need to do,
But wait, is it a need a want, Do we always have to try something new?

I look back on my day
Only to say,
what have I accomplished today?

Is that all that really matters,
What's written in our notebooks, the checklists that are tattered.

I need to slow down to think
Just why am I here and what is making me sink?

What are my priorities? God, family and friends...
Am I doing good in these areas and if not which ones do I need to mend?

Stop the sound,
The ticking that goes round
Where are you spending your time?
Is that worth a dime?

Pray and ask God for answer
For what in your life should really matter.

Sometimes I go through a whole week and think back on it, and think....what did I do that made a good memory for my family or friends? Did I spend enough time with God? It is crazy how fast time flies by, and its scary...I don't want to wake up one day, and say, HEY! :) j/k, but for real....

I am challenging everyone to see what is a priority in their lives....and are you putting that first or just going with the world....and filling up your time with stuff that in the end doesn't really matter?

cont..from Where is your mind? (2 blogs)

Where is your mind?
Is it in a bind?

How do you control,
What you think you already know

The thoughts just come,
Should I turn around and run?

And if I can’t run
How do I just give them to the Son?

We must try to think positive and obey,
Maybe we just need to get down on our knees and pray, pray, pray

Jesus said he will lead the way,
So give him your thoughts and worries to God and have a great day! :)

Where is your mind?

I have started reading a really good book, its called 'The 4:8 Principle' by Tommy Newberry...(wonderful book) and it all about how to change the way you think...

The book in general talks about how to filter your thoughts, how to think positively about everything, and not to dwell on the negative. One thing he said that was very interesting in this book was, "What you persistently think eventually but inevitably crystallizes into the words you speak and then the things you do..." ISN'T THAT INTERESTING...

I am wondering how people filter their minds...what do you do when you have a disturbing thought, or you start thinking negatively? I am only in the beginning of this book, but I would love to hear what people do to really try to control their mind and focus only on what God would have you focus or think about?

Where does IT go?

You know that feeling, right? The feeling when you get something new, or when you are about to do something different, start a new job, find a new friend....whatever the case may be, there is that feeling. The feeling of excitement, you just can't wait to do or have that thing that will make you so happy!

It's like a child in a toy store. Every child will walk down the toy ailes and gaze at all the stuff they don't have and point at what they want. So you buy them a new toy...and you can just see the excitement in their eyes, they can't wait to get home and play with it, right?

I love that feeling, but have you noticed how quick it comes upon us, just as quick... it leaves us. We are left feeling not so excited anymore. Think of that child, how often do you see a kid get a new toy and after a day of playing with it, it ends up in a toy box with everything else they own? No more excitement, no more happy....

Why are we like this? It seems we can never be completely satisfied. We get so pumped up about something, and then it's gone. It seems we are always looking for something different, something new to fulfill that happy place.

So where am I going with this....? I don't know, it is just something I have observed over the last couple weeks and thought it was just a topic people needed to think about. Are we happy? Is God in control of our life? Are we always looking for something new and exciting? Why can't we just be satisfied with what we have or what we are involved in? Why do we get so bored, or discontent?

We are here for one mission, and one mission only....to lead people to Christ, but first we need to see where our own lives are with Christ...are we ready for what God has in store for us? Are you ready for him to use you? Are you excited?! -and if you are, how are you going to stay excited about CHRIST?

It's All Around You...

It is very easy to wake up in the morning and think about at all the things we either don't have , or just be grouchy because something isn't going our way. We have heard this time and time again, "you are rich", "be grateful for what you have ", but do we really stop to think what that means?

For many of us, we have never seen what anything outside of the United States looks like, we do not know how people live, what they eat, or what their homes look like. We wouldn't think about walking 10 miles to work, or going a night without dinner. If we want something, we usually get it, or find a way to get it.

I am just realizing how truly blessed we are....If you don't want to see poverty here in the US or even in your own town, you don't have to....its very easy to ignore and pretend it's not there. For me, I am seeing it more and more....and it is making me realize what I have and what I don't need.

We know we are rich, so lets start acting like it. What I mean by that is, give things away you don't use or don't need to someone who would value it. Stop ignoring what you see or what God places in front of you to see and start doing something about it. I heard the other day, one of our friends wanted to give away their car.....! WOW, how could a family of 3 get around with only 1 car? (that is what many of us think, right?) So lets be radical, and change lives. There are so many places in town that you can go and either donate clothes, or find out who needs stuff and then do it!

To buy or not to buy
Do I need it or want it?

If I have it, do I use it?
If I don't use it, will I give it?

You may benefit from it,
But wait, I may need it someday,

Can I give it?
Can I let go?
Where are my priorities?

God says, give to those in need,
Care for those who grieve,

If we hold on and don't let go,
We might as well just no.

Jesus said yes for you
Why don't you try saying YES too!

Why am I here?

Why am I here?

The world is so large and I am so small
Why am I here?

So many people, places and things
Why am I here?

The world says, “You want it, you can have it”
Broke? There is still a way…
Why am I here?

I am told, “Worry about yourself and be happy”
Why am I here?

There is so much hurt all around us, pain, anger, bitterness
Why am I here?

There is never enough time in a day; it seems our priorities are work then family
Why am I here?

I try to make a difference, but what can one person do?
Why am I here?

The world is spinning, time is passing, and we are aging
Why am I here?

Are we to tell others, or just keep it in?
Why am I here?

It’s not easy being different; the world turns its back on you
Why am I here?

The truth must be told, it can’t stay a secret, they need to hear what will save them
But why am I here?

I kneel down to pray for all who are hurt and lost, I simply say
God, why am I here?

I know what I need to do, there is no turning back
Stand up and proclaim what I believe and pray God will lead the way
I will follow his straight and narrow path,
This world has lost its grip,
I only hope I can reach them before it’s too late.

There is no time to waste, every minute counts.
So what has God revealed?

This is why I am here!

To show his mercy and tell of his ever lasting love!
This is why I am here!

To preach the good news, and lead the lost to him.
This is why I am here!

I must go and tell all who will listen; this is why God made me,
This is my mission.

This is why I am here!
